In previous centuries, a quarto was an 8-page section made by folding a single sheet of paper in half twice. By trimming one folded edge, creators ended up with 8 pages, which usually became part of a larger book. You can read my post on quartos, but it is about how to arrange printed pages onto sheets.
More recently, I’ve started making 28-page pocket notebooks. Each notebook consists of a cover and 7 sheets folded in half. I sew the cover and sheets (rather than stapling). I designed these small notebooks to replace pocket notebooks with more pages, which I had been using for several years.
However, when I was about two-thirds of the way through August, I thought I might run out of pages. I used the techniques I shared in this post to create a quarto of blank pages. I designed it to fit in my front library card pocket.

This is my Youtube vertical video of the process.
